Donald Trump is threatening to take Bill Maher to court after the "Real Time" host failed to pay him $5 million after Trump proved he isn't the child of an orangutan.

The Donald, perhaps suffering from a post-Super Bowl lack of attention, called in to Fox News' "Fox & Friends" on Monday to announce his planned lawsuit, which will seek the $5 million from Maher.
In January, Maher made light of Trump's questioning of Barack Obama's birthplace by joking that Trump was spawned from sex between a human and an orangutan. He told "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno that he would pony up $5 million for charity if Trump offered proof of his lineage.

Trump promptly furnished a copy of his birth certificate to Yahoo News -- along with a demand that Maher pay up.
Nearly a month later, Maher still hasn't made good on his no-doubt earnest offer, and Trump is suing-mad.
"He promised me $5 million for charity if I provided certain information," His Hairness told "Fox & Friends" Monday. "Well, I provided the information. He didn't pay. So today I sue Bill Maher for $5 million for charity."
When it was suggested that comedian Maher might have been, well, joking, Trump brushed the possibility aside.

"I don't think he was joking. He said it with venom. That was venom. That wasn't a joke. In fact, he was nervous when he said it; it was a pathetic delivery. But he said, 'I will give,' and said, 'I will accept.'"
A spokeswoman for Maher has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment. But if Trump is as serious about the lawsuit as he was about a 2012 presidential run, Maher likely doesn't have anything to worry about.
